Sounds like the kind of reason why the German word for ship travel, previously written Schiffahrt, is now etymologycally written Schifffahrt, or (preferably) Schiff-fahrt with hyphen; or why the Dutch word for a sea duck is always hyphenated, otherwise there would be no less than 4 consecutive e's in zee-eend.
