The thing was when using a plugin manager like vim-plug and you want to enable the matchit plugin, you use: Plug 'k-takata/matchit.vim' in your vimrc. And apparently, the ' is not detected as a string, but rather as a mark command (or something similar). I am not sure if it will be easy to fix however.
