In ":he develop", under C99 "Not to be used", I don't see "designated initializers".

Is it OK to use that feature?

I'm working with a newly added struct and using that minimizes the support burden considerably. If it hasn't been vetted, I'm only working with one struct and this could be the canary in the coal mine.
