I just pushed a patch which moves the window to the top of the screen if it was about to open with the bottom part obscured. Can you confirm if this fixes the problem you described?
No, I don't think it does. With the latest patches, the window is still obscured by the bottom of the screen when using "set lines=". Also, the most recent patch (55cf45) seems to break zooming (or rather, un-zooming).
After I zoom the window, I then seem unable to un-zoom it. I've tracked this down to a comparison of the window frame with the screen frame, which expects a difference of less than 8 in each direction. However, this difference seems to depend on the font being used, and for me (Inconsolata:h11) the difference observed is 9. The result is that the window, once zoomed, then alternates between the zoomed frame and the screen frame, instead of reverting to the original frame. Zooming works fine for me prior to 55cf45.
