Ben, I do agree with the points you made with respect to using the "mvim" script when testing new binaries etc. Perhaps the best idea so far was the first one you had, i.e. "New window with parameters..." but it needs a better name! (I've been trying to come up with one but failed.) I think the menus could be cleaned up in a few places, but it's usually not that rewarding working on these kind of things so I've put it off for a long time.
