I just upgraded to snapshot 37 after reading this thread - my previous
comments were on snapshot 36. I'm still seeing strange issues.

I've had MacVim open for about 20 minutes now and I already have 17
Vim
processes, but only 4 files open. In total, I may have opened 8-10
files (i.e., I don't think I've already opened 17), but closed some so
I'm down to 4.

I don't have the "connection is invalid" message in my logs yet, but I
do have other strange messages:

[0x0-0x43043].org.vim.MacVim[1065]: stty: stdin isn't a terminal
[0x0-0x43043].org.vim.MacVim[1065]: Command terminated

Here are answers to some of your questions.

What OS version are you running?
 10.5.5

Do you start Vims by using mvim from Terminal, or the New Window
command
in MacVim, or something else?

I start by double-clicking the application icon. Then I drag files
to
the dock icon to open them. Or I use the MRU (most recently used)
plugin to open recently used files in new tabs. I rarely open a new
 window since I prefer tabs.

You don't have Application Enhancer or the Logitech Control Centre by
any chance? Any other similar hacks you have installed?

No. My system is clean of stuff like that.

Do you have the 'Launch Vim processes in a login shell' option turned
on
in the Advanced pane of Preferences?

Yes. Also "Enable Quickstart" is checked. I will have to get back
to
you on whether these settings matter.
