Nothing happens on MacVim's side when you save a buffer so it is very strange that the window would resize. Have you eliminated the possibility that your .[g]vimrc or stuff in your .vim folder is behind this? If it is intermittent it may be a bit of a drag to run without your config files/plugins I guess.
