Hi,

I have been trying to clean up the build system over the last couple
of days (autotools=frustration) and I think I'm getting close to
actually producing a build that can be turned into the next snapshot.
But before then, could I please ask some of you to try the following
binary out:

http://rapidshare.com/files/287063551/MacVim-32_64bit-Leopard-090930.zip

NOTE: This will only run on an Intel processor with OS X 10.5 or
higher! On 10.6 it should run in 64 bit mode, and on 10.5 32 bit.

(RapidShare said something about a 10 downloads limit, but I tried
putting the file on a "Collector Account" so hopefully it will let
more than 10 people try it out! If not, tell me and I'll re-upload
it.)

I have a feeling that it won't run on 10.5 because of the Perl version
it is linked against. If so, please to an "otool -L
MacVim.app/Contents/MacOS/*" and tell me which libraries are _not_ on
your 10.5 system.

I'm giving up on trying to compile a universal binary that will run on
10.4. Sorry Tiger users, you'll have to build your own or use the
stable build in the future. Maintaining a snapshot that runs on 10.4
upwards is taking up too much of my time to be worth it. At least the
Python crowd will be happier since the snapshots will now include
Python 2.5 (OK, so 10.6 comes with Python 2.6...I hope you can live
with it! ;-)

A sidenote: being built against the 10.5 SDK means that the above
binary actually doesn't break 'transp' (yay, I guess).

Finally, a quick poll:
Q: Are you running 10.5 on a PPC or Intel processor?

(If at least a few people use PPC I may try to include a PPC binary in
the snapshot.)

Please let me know how it goes.

Thanks,
Björn
