Comment out every line in your rc-files and then un-comment one line at a time; that's the only way I can think of...assuming the problem is in your rc-files. It could also be a plugin. To figure out which it should be enough to: mvim --noplugin --servername test then mvim -u NORC --servername test If the former works, then it's in a plugin, if the latter then it's in your rc-files (theoretically at least).
