It would be great if MacVim had an option that would leave the OS X menu bar on the screen. I've found that it can be set up in the app's info.plist at least (http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/19160/how-to-always-show-menubar-with-fullscreen-apps), but didn't yet found a way to change that in runtime.
