It's one of the oldest and still maintained plugin addressing these issues. :)
However, I haven't seen the (bracketed) light until recently.

What do you mean ? map-tools plugin does not mean much outside ft-specific 
settings. Each time we need to insert brackets, it is systematically in the 
context of a given language (C (and children), 
LaTeX, VimL, HTML, etc) ; even if in the end we're always using the same 
mappings.

There is no archive ready yet, I have resilient bug I can't get rid of (I can't 
succeed in using my Surround() function to define the two visual-mappings for 
the do-while C loop).

I you are still interested in other archives just ask, many things haven't been 
updated in a long time (Refactor, BuildToolsWrapper, ...). I should be able to 
prepare something by the end of the week -- I have some code to merge in 
various places, first.
