The patch on vim_dev linked above works now, as far as I can tell. It
also folds your example text great.

Note that the patch is for the perl syntax file, not for the Vim code,
so don't be scared away thinking you'd need to compile Vim or
something.

Even if you don't have or know how to use the patch utility, it's easy
enough to apply by hand.
