I tested again on a real winxp (actually under virtualbox) that the following apps use shift-del as cut (delete into clipboard) notepad, excel 2003, word 2003 and the wiki also says cut is shift-del in cua http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_User_Access http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cut,_copy,_and_paste m$ file explorer use shift-del as delete forever but del alone instead of ctrl-del will delete into recycle bin.
