Hi,
I have created a branch that contains the latest runtime files fetched
with rsync. This branch can be merged into Vim's source tree (e.g. the
vim branch). That means you can now have a tree with the latest runtime
files COMBINED with your own changes to the runtime files or the changes
to the runtime files of various patches (e.g. the feature branches in
vim_extended).
Advantages:
Updating the runtime files doesn't overwrite ...
- ... your custom changes to the runtime files anymore
- ... the changes of the official patches to the runtime files anymore,
whether they are already included in the latest runtime files or not
So who can yet resist?

There is a new branch 'vim-with-runtime' that already includes the
latest runtime files from the 'vim-runtime' branch, so you don't have to
do it yourself (this is special proceeding for the initial merge).
And the 'master' branch of vim_extended merges this branch from now on
instead of the plain 'vim' branch.
To keep it clean and for further improvements I decided to set up a new
repository, that only includes Vim's source tree and the latest runtime
files. vim_extended is now based on this:

Richard, I hope you can understand that I haven't yet tackled the Readme
file. I haven't forgotten it.
Markus
