When I was on Windows, I didn't get any error when compiling [g]vim with 
+ruby using first BCC32 5.5, and then Cygwin gcc. I probably used an 
earlier version of Ruby though. Did you get that Ruby package from the 
site linked to on my HowTo page? If you did, I've got to add a warning 
about that.
