If you are pasting into console/terminal Vim (not gvim), see: http://vim.wikia.com/wiki/Toggle_auto-indenting_for_code_paste BTW it would be really easy for someone to review that tip (i.e. confirm that it's ok for current Vim, and remove the {{review}} line).
