ah, ok. I use fixed. dejavu is nice, but the horizontal kerning
is to big for my taste. And as I don't speak/read Asian
languages, and just like the look of the glyphs I take fixed for
everyday use which unfortunately doesn't contain all of them.

You're right, I just tried with -fa "dejavu sans mono", and even
-fd "dejavu sans mono".

It works in Apple's Terminal.app and iTerm. Sorry for not
mentioning that in the first place.
