If done *right* (and there's the rub), it should only strip out the deep
blue end of the spectrum rather sharply, *not* affecting green or even
teal/aqua colors.  They would look pale yellow, not deep yellow and
certainly not amber.  (And yeah, I've seen amber foglights where I say
to myself, "Why bother?".)

'Though I imagine with cheap colorants they might kill off everything
from green on out.  :\

But yeah, the bureaucratic thing seems most likely.


As an aside, there used to be a fairly popular brand of subglasses
advertised on teevee called "BlueBlockers(tm)", that someone gifted me a
pair.  I was skeptical, wore them just to not offend, but was eventually
turned on to them as in fact working.  The only thing I didn't like was
white cars (eg, copcars) looking yellow.  But they *did* improve
sharpness and clarity when viewing at a distance.
