it's there if you have any

in mine for example the first few lines look like:

VIM - Vi IMproved 7.2 (2008 Aug 9, compiled Feb 14 2009 17:17:59)
Included patches: 1-108
Modified by Markus Heidelberg (relative numbers)
Compiled by tooth...@home

this tells me my version is 7.2 at patch level 108, or what we call
7.2.108

if no patches have been applied to your build source the Included
patches line simply won't be there
