The extension is not for me, just that.

Probably, and I think Vimperator is quite useful in laptops because
you're right: using the pad in a laptop is a PITA (at least for me). If
I ever replace my computer with a laptop (and I'm afraid I will do it
when mi current computer die) I plan to use an external keyboard and
mouse anyway...
