What's your 'indentkeys' option?
If it contains "*<Return>", then remove the leading star "*".
Check with
    :verb set indk?
to find out where the option has been set from.

Ok, here:
vim72/indent/html.vim [05 Jun 2006]
    :setlocal indentkeys=o,O,*<Return>,<>>,{,}

I suppose its a bug in the indent script.
