I'm not so sure it will cause trouble:

- Non-logged-in users will get the new editor, but anyone wishing to
participate seriously as an editor should register a login name anyway,
and use it.
- Users who (like me) have chosen a different skin will be locked out of
the new editor, but what the hell, we keep what we're used to.
- Existing users will get "what they are used to" by default, but if
they use the Monaco skin they can try out the new editor.
- New users will get the new editor by default, on the pages where it's
enabled. They can always disable it if they don't like it (or if they
want the same editor on all pages) by visiting their Preferences page,
and IMHO every user ought to visit his Preferences at least twice a year
(to set the timezone, if nothing else, unless he lives in a country
where summer time never goes into effect).

Since the "new editor" is supposed to make life easier for newbies, and
the "old editor" is what existing users always had, I'm not sure which
of the above will "surely" cause trouble according to you.

Best regards,
Tony.
