The iskeyword option is locally set by netrw for its display buffers. Its a bug if that iskeyword setting affects other buffers; however, it is not a bug for the netrw buffers themselves. Without that setting, one would not be able to edit or change directory to a file/directory name containing/starting-with a ".".
