I am looking into Vim's client-server feature and I was wondering what
benefits can be derived from it.

One thing that I have noticed over the weekend is that on a number of
occasions, the server instance of Vim opened a tab/buffer that was
either empty, contained binary zeros - 0x00 - or even the raw
hexadecimal representation of an UTF-8 encoded text file.

These glitches appeared to appear randomly, and on most occasions,
having the client retry the request, or bouncing the server fixed the
problem.

Has anyone implemented this feature and could possibly comment on the
above?

Thanks,

CJ
