when i enter 'foo"' then mostly i am
setting an ending quote for the word.

but that's not always the case as there
might be more than one word for a phrase.

so rather than adding an AI plugin,
i use a comma as a "mapleader":

  imap ,**  <c-o>B*<c-o>E<right>*
  imap ,""  <c-o>B"<c-o>E<right>"
  imap ,//  <c-o>B/<c-o>E<right>/

not automatic, but, hey -
*works* /for/ "me". :-)
