In notepad, notepad++ or other windows texteditors it is possible to

I didn't find out how to do this in Vim.
In Vim the words are broken at the end of the line when printed.

Is there no way to resolve this problem without reformatting the text?
Try setting 'linebreak' and then converting your text to HTML (which
will let you print with syntax highlights) -- you can display the HTML
in your browser and print from there.
see
:help 'linebreak'
:help convert-to-html
:help :TOhtml
But you say "wrap active and printed as on the sc
reen". I use 'wrap' but not 'linebreak', and on t
he screen, any line longer than 'columns' appears
on several screen lines, and the break between s
uccessive "screen lines" will happen right after
whatever letter is displayed in the rightmost scr
een column -- even in the middle of a word, as in
this paragraph.
Best regards,
Tony.
