Hello, When you open gvim in normal mode, the command line shows the name, length and file format (dos or unix) of the file. At least when the latter is not the one of the current system.
When you open evim or gvim -y, the above information is hidden by the -- INSERT -- message. The command :file (or CTRL-G) does not give the file format. Is there a vim command to get it?
