Tell me if I am correct or not. I am new and still learning. I am
still reading the help and the FAQ. I also have a copy of Learning the
vi and Vim Editors 7th Edition. I think the help and FAQ are of more
value to me now than the book. It got me going but it was a little
confusing covering vi and Vim and all the other clones. Plus it left
out some things about Vim that I am finding useful. I am still very
please that there is so much good information. It makes it a lot
easier to learn. Sometimes I just need some confirmation so I know I
am on the right track. I really like this editor. Sorry if these
questions are answered somewhere my brain is on information overload.
I have been sitting in front of the computer for several hours at a
time reading help and the FAQ and the book and some of the wiki stuff.
I have been learning a lot. Once I am a lot more experienced with this
editor my project is going to go a lot faster. I really like that
surround.vim by Tim Pope. That made a big improvement for me.

These two directories are a little confusing.

./vim/ftplugin - is for plugins that tell Vim how to deal with a
file's format. How does that differ with the syntax directory?

./vim/plugin - is for plugins to expand Vims functionality.

Thanks for the help it has been and is appreciated.
