Thanks for the suggestion. Please note that I had to use
"vimfiles\after\syntax" instead of "vimfiles\after\ftplugin" to get it to work.
BTW, the reason I want to turn off syntax on batch files is because datetime
values (10 consecutive digits) are displayed with random digits colored, which
is very distracting.
