When I run ctags --version, I get:

ctags (GNU Emacs 23.2)
Copyright (C) 2010 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
This program is distributed under the terms in ETAGS.README

When I run "man ctags" I get:
etags(1) GNU Tools etags(1)

At the bottom of the man page I get:
GNU Tools 23nov2001 <<<<<<<<-???? etags(1)

---------------- note the "2001" ------------------------------
