By copy do you mean Ctrl-C and then a Ctrl-V? Or are you selecting with left mouse button and then doing a paste using a click of he middle mouse button?
I use the left mouse button to select and copy and the middle mouse button to paste.
Does it have the same behavior using both methods?

Also, I noticed Arabic so are the problems the same in both Arabic and English or are you editing only in English?
The problems are the same in both Arabic and English.
I don't know what to say about the icons other than it sounds like you have a windowing problem. That also may be causing your other problems as well. Are you using twm or something else?
I am using KDE 4.2.4 on slackware 13.0 which uses lesstif 0.95.0 (a free clone for Motif).
I cannot help you there. I am using OpenSuse 11.2 with Gnome and Ubuntu 10.04 with Gnome. I use what the people using Windows will probably use if they shift from Windows to Linux.
