I have been seeing this message on logging into the google groups
interface recently:

"Google Groups will no longer be supporting the Welcome Message
feature. Starting January 13, you won't be able to edit your welcome
messages, but you will still be able to view and download the existing
content. See this announcement for more information and other options
for storing your content. [Download Welcome Message Content]"

I've been ignoring it but finally checked it a few moments ago.
Apparently our Google overlords have decided we don't need pages or
downloads on the google groups site, we should use Google Docs or
Google Sites instead. Details:
http://groups-announcements.blogspot.com/2010/09/notice-about-pages-and-files.html

Where do we want to put our mailing list info, patch list, etc. now?
