the contents of the remembered registers is restricted to 50 lines. If you want to store more, you can :set viminfo='20,<1000,s10,h in your ~/.vimrc. This will allow you to store 1000 lines per registers. Or you can use the clipboard to store the yanked lines between subsequent invocations of Vim.
