Thank you very much for you information and tips, it was very helpful.
Looks like it is a plugin and something else. I'll think I will take your
advice and use the setup as is with Dvorak, and figure out how to use Vim
better before I start tinkering.
Just FYI, I can the :verbose map c, and got this (not sure how that third
line is getting set):
n cs <Plug>Csurround
Last set from ~/.vim/bundle/vim-surround/plugin/surround.vim
n c * k<Space>
Last set from ~/.vimrc
