I've just noticed that in xterm (TERM=xterm-8colors) hi Default ctermfg=blue produces blue text with bold font. Actually it's normal because the documenation says for xterm-8colors NR-8 COLOR NAME 4 DarkBlue 4* Blue, LightBlue And to produce light blue, xterm-8color is obliged to use bold.
So if I need darkblue, I write ctermfg=darkblue At the beginning I did not understand that and tried :hi something ctermfg=blue cterm=none It also works in general. But I've just noticed that :hi Normal ctermfg=blue cterm=none is still bold. while :hi Comment ctermfg=blue cterm=none produces comments in normal font. Does someone know the reason for this difference between Default and Comment ? (just for curiosity) Rq : This also gives the answer to the question I asked last week about ctermfg enabling bold I think. -- You received this message from the "vim_use" maillist. Do not top-post!
