This is quite a specific problem: I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 in a PC, but I use a Apple Aluminum keyboard.
Strangely, the Control-[ combination is not working as "Esc" on Vim. Instead it is the Control-] which works as "esc". However, the correct characters are printed by each key, so actually is seems that the mapping of the key is bound to the key position instead of its actual character, which is strange. Anyone has any idea how this can be fixed? Alternatively, how can I map the Control-[ stroke to "esc"? Thanks, Leandro. Ps. Also, and that is probably related, in gnu-screen the "Control-a [" goes to copy mode, but the "control-a control-[" does not, and the "control-a control-]" does it. So, what seems to be wrong is that after pressing control the "]" key behaves as "[" -- You received this message from the "vim_use" maillist. Do not top-post!
