:h 'diffopt'. You can use "-c 'set diffopt+=iwhite'" to specify this
option at the command-line, but it may be too late. Specifying it in
the vimrc will not, but it is not convenient, thus you may want to use
something like
��� if !empty('$VIMDIFFOPT')
������� let &diffopt=$VIMDIFFOPT

Thanks!... and thanks to the others who responded too...had
a Q about the above. Does using the '&' before the vimvar take the place
of the += in doing an append to the var?

(didn't think to look for a diffopt under help as I had no idea it existed)
