I use Vim 7.4.488 on Debian Jessie, and have a problem with the linebreak feature (for not breaking words when wrapping lines).
The problem is only in the insert mode; normal and visual are fine. What happens is that the paragraph reflows, as if I set linebreak off upon entering the insert mode. I did a little testing and it seems that this only occurs when I enter the insert mode to edit more than one character, either by selecting a few characters and pressing "c", or by placing the cursor above a word and pressing "caw" or "ciw". When I run Vim normally and my .vimrc is sourced, it doesn't matter which word I try to edit. When I run Vim with "-u NONE", however, it seems that the problem only occurs when the characters in question would not reflow to the first line, i.e. it will happen when I edit a word say in the third line, but not with one in the first line or at the very beginning of the second line, if it almost fits in the first one. I wasn't able to narrow it down to a single setting in my .vimrc that might be causing this difference. Is this a known problem, does anyone know how to fix it? Frankly, it's a bit annoying. -- View this message in context: http://vim.1045645.n5.nabble.com/The-linebreak-option-sometimes-stops-working-in-the-insert-mode-tp5723607.html Sent from the Vim - General mailing list archive at Nabble.com. -- -- You received this message from the "vim_use" maillist.
