Hi,
I made a new setup of Ubuntu, with no other specific package, I find
vim, but nothing about the syntax files, no filetype.vim, nor any
other (nasm.vim, ....)

Am I missing something?

filetype.vim is supposed to be included in the vim-runtime package. Is
that installed? Do you perhaps have only vim-tiny installed? What vim
packages do you have installed?

Best,
Christian
