In Vim 8.0.0003 ":echo v:version" answers 800 for me.

Try recompiling from scratch (e.g. on Linux, "make reconfig", assuming
your config options are set by environment strings, see
http://users.skynet.be/antoine.mechelynck/vim/compunix.htm ). IIUC, on
Windows the -B ("build") command-line switch to "make" will recompile
everything regardless of source modification dates (see
http://users.skynet.be/antoine.mechelynck/vim/compile.htm ).
