Just FYI, there is a fork of the Vim script syntax file:

This is updated more frequently.
There's a fork of the Vim script syntax file that's updated frequently;
in fact, its the alpha/beta for the one that eventually goes into vim.
The problem mentioned here was fixed in it on May 17. You can find this
mentioned in the syntax/vim.vim file itself, in the file's preamble
comment section (see URL:...). I do that to get comments prior to
pushing it out to vim's thousands of users.
