Did you consider to use WSL2 <https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/wsl2-about> and the new Windows terminal <https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/windows-terminal-preview/9n0dx20hk701?activetab=pivot:overviewtab>? That's how I work with Vim most of the time, even if I edit Windows files.
