This is generally true of Canon marking engine-based printers, but not the later HP LJs, nor of Apple LWs, which did not use Canon marking engines. It is usually possible to find a "cross" from one product to another, and even to find a generic substitute. Merit Line, and others, offer generic substitutes, which are often made from all-new materials, not remanufactured materials, and which are form-fit-function replacements for the originals. Merit Line even has its own toner component rechargers (basically, a bottle of toner, only, and an instruction sheet on how to use it). However, I found that for my Brother lasers, the complete toner component cost the same as just the bottle of toner, if purchased from Merit Line, hence I bought complete toner components, and not the toner kits. http://groups.google.com/group/hq-a A home for the Hackintosh community. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Vintage Macs group.
