.......might be able to suggest a source for the monitor stand.  It shouldn't 
be that expensive, but finding a source might take a bit of time (or.....it 
might not).  At any rate, it's up to you to decide whether or not it's worth 
the effort.

Well, it's nice to be able to pick up something like that in person where you 
can see/smell/switch it on before parting with your money.  Getting an IIc 
shipped to you is probably no big deal, but the way you were able to do it 
about as bomb-proof as it gets, and the extra peace of mind is worth it.
