yes as far as I know. It might be a little slow because 25mhz '030 is
only about 1/3 as fast as 33mhz '040. I used to have an lc2 which was
an '030.
Also you might need some RAM.
I never had a compact mac, but I like the old powerbooks. I found this
540c at a sidewalk sale for $25. I got a battery refill for $50,
otherwise it has worked fine for me for a number of years. Before that
I used a 520c which is also an '040 but 25mhz instead of 33 and has
20MB RAM instead of 36, and semi-passive matrix screen instead of
active.
I still have the 520c in the closet...
