The 15 pin D connector will be a standard AUI socket for an ethernet transceiver. The transceiver can give you support for a thinwire (coaxial) or thickwire network. The other connector is a standard RJ45 twisted pair ethernet socket. TK = Thickwire -- setting for external transceiver TPL = Twisted Pair with Linkbeat -- setting for RJ45 connected to a network that requires the ethernet card to generate a linkbeat TPN = Twisted Pair with No linkbeat -- normal RJ45 setting For modern hubs, the appropriate setting would be TPN though TPL would usually be harmless. TPL originates in the early days of twisted pair ethernet networking and you won't see references to it with contemporary equipment.
