I have replaced the hard drive in a MAC SE/20 with an Apple branded
Seagate 2GB drive (a ST32151N model). When the computer boots the
drive LED comes on, the disk makes some turns and then a beep is
emitted from the drive. This repeats about 4 times, the beep gets
louder and weakens then stops. I checked cable termination, scsi ID. I
even opened up the case to see that the disks and heads look good.
There is a jumper to instruct the drive to wait with spin up until
requested by the controller and that is functioning (resulting in the
same error but starting 15 seconds after switching the Mac on). What
is going on and what to do about it?

Thanks for your help.
