The same situation applied to the Mac II.

One line, I believe it is pin 17, can be cut, and which renders the 800 KB floppy compatible. My Mac II, which was upgraded to a IIx, has one 800 KB and one MB floppy. The ribbon cables have a yellow stripe instead of a red stripe, and that yellow stripe indicates that the required pin has already been cut at the factory. > And lastly, would having 80ns RAM chips make any difference, because > it says to upgrade with 150ns RAM chips. The machine still cycles at around 8 MHz, and installing faster RAM sticks will not increase that. -- ----- You received this message because you are a member of the Vintage Macs group.
