decent perhaps but with aiff files = cd audio the sound is georgeous.

hmmm....

reminds me that I have gotten into podcasts lately, most of these are
22khz 8 bit mono, or could be converted.

they are much smaller that way rather than having to downsample and
fun to listen to.
