I'm eagerly awaiting the boot disk that a kind member of this list has mailed to me but last night I decided to start the 128k up without a disk to bring back memories even if it meant to just stare at the question mark icon. :) Anyway the machine chimed but there was no display. Last week the display was perfect. So I looked it up in the Larry Pina book and there's a solution for the same behaviour which involves checking a few places on the board and resoldering.
So my question is this - since I'm going to be in there already to fix this problem should I also replace/fix other components? This problem literally just started happening a week ago, is this an indication that other problems will crop up soon? And if so what are they most likely to be because I'd love to do some preventative maintenance now to avoid issues down the road. Any advice is appreciated! -- ----- You received this message because you are a member of the Vintage Macs group.
